Teledentix, by Virtual Dental Care (VDC), was recently rolled out at Mission Smiles’ mobile and teledentistry program to help increase capacity while delivering highly personalized care.
Mission Smiles is a unique non-profit dental organization, delivering dental care to patients below the poverty line at multiple treatment sites including churches and community centers.
Kathy McGartland, Mission Smiles Program Director, quickly realized the need for a
“With Teledentix we can now have patients complete digital forms, send in intraoral photos, and attend a virtual pre-appointment consultation that greatly reduces the amount of time need for the physical appointment when we are on site,” noted McGartland.
“Plus, it’s been a game changer for us to establish a face-to-face relationship with some of our patients who are terrified of the dentists because they haven’t been in years (or may never have seen a dentist). The virtual screenings allow us to address any concerns prior to the appointment and greet them with familiar face once they see us in person!”
Mission Smiles works with patients from all walks of life including the homeless, veterans, refugees, and human trafficking survivors.
